Allow me to reintroduce myself
The Founder Roundup Ep. 19
Allow me to reintroduce myself 🎵
We've got a lot of exciting things going on at Startup Founder Daily. We're keeping it pretty hush-hush, but we'll be sharing more over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, we're kicking things off with a little rebrand. My vision for the logo was along two dimensions: We've been using the megaphone emoji for a while, because our mission is amplifying the voices of startup founders.
The megaphone is downward-facing because we're turning traditional startup media on its head. Lastly, the rocket of course. The iconic symbol of startups.
Let me know if you like it. If you don't like it, you can still let me know.
Welcome back to the Founder Roundup! Hope your weekend was fantastic. We had the pleasure of featuring two great founders last week. Check out their profiles below.
A big welcome to our new subscribers. If you haven't introduced yourself yet, respond to this email. I'd love to get to know you.
Weekly Wisdom
The hardest part is getting started. There’s always an excuse: it’s a recession, or I can’t quite find the right business to start. My main advice is to get started now and figure it out as you go.
I’ve now started a number of DTC divisions within larger companies, which is a great way to gain confidence in your decision making and understand what it’s like to run a business. Running a business is hard. You have to love it.
But you’ll never know whether it’s for you until you get started and go.
Startup School
We are officially in December, which means it's time to start planning for 2024. Our friends at Scale Capital put together a great blog & presentation on the key considerations when approaching annual planning.

Jay Bradley, Co-Founder of Smith & Bradley
Finally, a watch with a lifetime warranty. Jay Allen of Smith & Bradley builds watches that keep up with you.
Jay has deep experience in the ecommerce industry. He has also always loved (and broken) watches.
Now, he’s aligning passion and experience to build the ultimate durable watch. Jay teamed up with Jerommie Smith, a former Chicago police officer.
They set about designing a tough watch built for tough jobs, believing that a life well-lived demands a watch well-worn.
Their watches are just as at home in the boardroom as they are in the field. All watches feature the highest quality materials, Swiss movements, and a design meant to withstand the most punishing environments.
These are great watches that can’t be broken. If you’ve been looking for a watch that can keep up with you, head over to their website.

It’s hard enough to coordinate calendars with friends who are within our same geographical are. Imagine the difficulty of coordinating plans with your connections who live abroad!
